Questions, corrections, trip-planning queries, and requests for specific destination coverage are all welcome.

In this guide (5 sections)
  1. For factual corrections
  2. For trip-planning questions
  3. For destination requests
  4. For permission to quote
  5. What we don’t do

For factual corrections

If something on the site is wrong — a price that’s changed, a restaurant that’s closed, a transport detail that’s been revised — please let us know. Detail is important: which page, which paragraph, and what the correct information is. We update the site quarterly with batched corrections; urgent safety-related issues (closed hiking trails, flooded roads, ferry cancellations) get updated the same day.

For trip-planning questions

We try to cover everything someone planning a trip to a specific destination would need in the destination’s own page. If the thing you’re trying to plan for isn’t covered in our coverage of that town or region, email us directly — we’ll usually answer within a few days, and your question often becomes a new section in the guide.

For destination requests

There’s a long queue of Chūgoku-region places we haven’t yet written up: Onomichi, Takehara, Shimonoseki, Oki-Dōgo’s full coast, the inland Yamaguchi mountain villages, the Shikoku pilgrimage routes that start in the region. If you’re travelling somewhere specific that isn’t on the site yet, tell us — requested destinations jump the queue.

For permission to quote

Short quotations for review or academic purposes under fair-use conventions don’t require permission. For longer extracts, image reuse beyond fair use, or commercial reproduction, get in touch first.

What we don’t do

  • Custom itinerary planning. We publish destination guides; we don’t plan individual trips. Reliable Japanese trip planners include JapanQuest and Oku Japan for bespoke itineraries.
  • Hotel/flight/JR Pass bookings. We link to operators where relevant but we don’t handle any bookings ourselves.
  • Sponsored posts or paid listings. No venue or operator on this site is paying for its mention. When we recommend a place, we recommend it because we think it’s worth visiting.

A contact form will be added here once we set up our backend email handling. In the meantime, if something urgent needs flagging, the details in our site metadata will route to the right place.
